HP-BLU wireless detectors for high-power lasers honored by Laser Focus World Innovators Awards

Quebec City, QC, October 13, 2020 – Gentec-EO announced today that its HP-BLU series wireless detectors were awarded the Bronze Honoree by 2020 Laser Focus World Innovators Awards.
The Laser Focus World Innovators Awards program was developed to recognize the most innovative solutions in optics and photonics products and systems.
The HP-BLU series wireless detectors for high-power lasers for laser power measurement up to 15 kW integrate a wireless data-transfer module that allows for remote monitoring at up to 30 m from the detector and is battery-operated to reduce cabling.
With the advent of high-power fiber lasers, multi-kilowatt lasers are increasingly manufactured and integrated into optical systems. At such a high level of laser power, the operator’s safety is crucial. To ensure the operator’s safety, high power lasers are often either confined in enclosures, or the laser is controlled from a separate room.
